A transformable mechanical platform with real-time monitoring system for healthcare applications. Project associated with Kalubowila hospital.
This project was initiated based on real problems that the Sri Lankan healthcare sector faces in daily patient care. It introduces a novel transformable platform with a real-time monitoring system to assist bedridden and general patients.
Key features:
- A convertible trolley bed that can transform between trolley, bed, and wheelchair modes
- Real-time patient data visualization system
- Implementation of an active suspension system to improve patient comfort
- IoT-based monitoring system using Firebase, Android, and Raspberry Pi
The project received the Innovation Award at Health Innovation for Tomorrow 2020 (Organized by Sri Lanka Medical Association) and the Mobil Award for the Best Mechanical Engineering Final Year Project.
